July 2026 Product Update — Field App, Unified Configuration, and Safer Reporting

July was a big month for the people doing the work in the field and the people configuring GrowerLive behind the scenes. We shipped the next phase of the Merchandising Field App, rebuilt how features are turned on and off for each of our clients, and made reporting both safer and friendlier when something goes wrong. Here's what's new.

Merchandising

The Field App is now a full stop-visit workflow for merchandisers. Your team can walk a store, capture what they see, and close out the visit from a phone or tablet — no paperwork required.

  • Photo capture and management: merchandisers can upload photos during a visit, open them full-screen in a lightbox, and remove a photo that didn't come out right.
  • Stocking products are now part of the visit flow, so merchandisers record what they actually stocked while they're standing in front of the display.
  • Completed stops are clearly badged, making it obvious at a glance which locations are done and which still need attention.
  • Credits and Culls now show every product at a location, so nothing gets missed during a count.
  • Visits are locked to the merchandiser they belong to, and the back button and post-completion steps behave predictably — no more accidentally editing someone else's visit or a visit that's already closed.
  • The Field App now shares the same layout and role-aware sidebar as the rest of GrowerLive, so navigation feels consistent whether a user is in the office or in the field.

Entity Management & Configuration

We replaced a patchwork of legacy settings with a single, purpose-built configuration system. The practical result: turning a capability on or off for your organization is now clearer, faster, and far less risky.

  • A new Modules admin screen lets you see and manage which GrowerLive modules and screens are enabled for your organization, replacing the old Feature Toggles screen.
  • Every screen now has its own toggle instead of sharing a broad gate, so you can tailor access precisely to how your team works.
  • A new Client Preferences screen puts organization-specific behavior — such as packing rules and default order and vendor-order settings — in one place instead of buried in custom logic.
  • Order status edit restrictions are now managed alongside your other role permissions, giving you one consistent place to control who can change what.
  • Show Inactive is now remembered as a personal user preference, so each team member keeps their own view.
  • Active/Inactive filtering and record archiving now behave the same way across every screen in the platform.
  • Dashboard widgets and report access now respect the permissions you've granted rather than assuming what an admin or a given role should see.
  • Support-assisted troubleshooting is now available through a tightly controlled impersonation flow, with safeguards that prevent misuse and keep sessions from getting stuck.

Reporting

Reporting received a significant security and reliability pass, plus a smoother experience when a report can't be found.

  • Report viewing now honors per-report permissions, so sensitive reports stay with the people who should see them.
  • Custom report queries are validated more thoroughly and run in a read-only, rollback-only mode — a report can look at your data but can never change it.
  • Missing or renamed reports now return a clear, graceful message instead of an error page.
  • The report designer is now packaged with the platform, which makes upgrades smoother and deployments more predictable.

Order Flow

Multi-order entry and the inventory-based order detail grid are now managed through the new module configuration system. That means changes to how your order entry screens behave take effect consistently and can be adjusted per organization without custom work.

EDI Integration

EDI correction methods have moved onto the same unified configuration system, giving us a single, reliable place to enable EDI behavior for each retail partner relationship.

Shipment Planning

Buttons and dialogs across Shipment Planning and Merchandising were standardized to match the rest of the platform, so primary and destructive actions look and behave the same everywhere. Shared tree views now size to their content, making location and product hierarchies easier to read without extra scrolling.

Across the Platform

  • A new theme switcher lets each user choose Light, Dark, or Follow System — helpful for merchandisers working in bright greenhouses or dim back rooms.
  • We hardened our deployment checks so a release has to prove it can fully load before it goes live, and we resolved a timing issue that could occasionally disrupt a client's staging environment during the nightly refresh.

Looking Ahead

Next up, we're continuing to expand the Field App with deeper inventory and count capabilities, and we're preparing for an August integration cutover that will further streamline nightly data flow. As always, if there's a workflow you'd like to see supported, reach out — your feedback drives this roadmap.
