Jose joined GrowerLive on June 8th as a software engineer. He is splitting his time between two things: building features in the GrowerLive platform, and consulting directly with new partners as they come on board.
That second part is deliberate. We have never liked the arrangement where the people who build the software are kept away from the people who use it. When a grower explains how their pull process actually works, the engineer who will implement it should be in the room. Jose will be.
What Jose brings
- Experience on a mid-sized development team, where the work is close enough to the customer to still feel the consequences of a decision
- A stretch at a company that grew to three times its original size, and a first-hand sense of which things break when that happens
- A background in AI development and in developer workflows and tooling
The scaling experience is the part we are most glad to have. Our partners are growers and brokers in the middle of the market, and the ones we work with tend to be growing. The problems that show up at three times the volume are rarely the problems anyone planned for, and having someone on the team who has watched that happen from the inside is worth a great deal.
His work on developer workflows matters for a less visible reason: the faster we can build, test, and ship safely, the faster a customization request turns into something a grower can actually use. And while AI is not something we make product claims about today, we are actively exploring how it can push this industry forward — having that expertise on the team is how we intend to find out.
